Audi recommended tyres in recent years have included many offerings from Michelin (Primacy 4, Pilot Sport 4, Pilot Alpin 5), Goodyear (F1 Asymmetric 3, EfficientGrip Performance) and winter tyres from Continental (the WinterContact) or Dunlop (the Winter Sport 3D and 4D). Like many other vehicle manufacturers, Audi opts to use tires from well established brands such as Goodyear, Pirelli, Bridgestone, Michelin, Dunlop, and Continental.Audi Original Tires: R0, RE, and AO Tires* Audi always recommends utilizing Audi Original Tires identified by a marking on the sidewall. These identifications include R0, R1… or RE0, RE1… for “extended mobility / run flat” tires. Older Audi vehicles may have tires marked with AO, AOE, or R01.
What are Audi original tires?
Audi Original High-Performance All-Season Tires * are made to help balance comfort, handling, a quiet ride, and tread life while helping to maintain traction in snow. Audi All-Season Tires are high-performance speed rated for sporty sedans, avants and cabriolets. Disadvantages of all season tyres Performance on icy roads – Whilst all season tyres are better for driving on snow or ice than summer tyres, they do not perform as well as winter tyres. In extreme weather conditions, all season tyres are still susceptible to loss of grip and poor handling.All-season tires perform well in warm weather, but they may offer less grip than summer tires, sacrificing some steering, braking, and cornering capabilities. This trade off is necessary for all-season tires to be able to provide acceptable performance in light winter conditions and provide longer tread life.Even on all seasons (Pilot Sport 3+) it handles the snow great. I can’t imagine what snow tires would do. Not to mention I was able to have some fun;) If I wasn’t already sold on Audi.
