The Dart Aero, Rallye, SXT, and Limited models are the only models available with the 1. L MultiAir turbocharged I4 engine. The 2-liter Tigershark I4 is the standard engine on all but the R/T model and puts out the same 160-horsepower as the turbo, but far less torque at 148 pound feet. But, it was the 1. Turbo we took to our track. With the standard 6-speed manual, our 3,200 pound Dart managed a respectable 0-60 run of 8.

The Dart GTS came standard with the 340 cu in (5. L) V8. A 300 hp (220 kW) 383 cu in (6. L) big-block was optional. This is one of about 650 ’68 and ’69 Darts fitted with a 440-cid V-8 under a program in which Chrysler shipped the engines to Hurst-Campbell, Inc. This was an extreme muscle car.
