What’s the difference between KM2 and KM3?
The BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain KM3 (on the left) might look similar to the KM2, but there are differences. Probably the most notable is the KM3 has slightly smaller void areas compared to the KM2. But since the KM2’s introduction in 2007 there has been several advancements in rubber compounds and tire design. Primary use: The KM3 is built for maximum traction in mud and on rocks. Key features: It has an aggressive, high-void tread pattern. These deep lugs and Mud-Phobic bars work to actively eject mud, maintaining grip where other tires would clog.Km3 is heavier and will get less gas milage, and rob power. It is superior in all off-road conditions. Great in mud, rocks, deep snow.Replaced my BFG KO2s with these KM3 3 years ago and I could not be happier with the performance & look of these tires. The on road and off-road performance has been outstanding.

How many miles do KM3 tires last?
Life Expectancy. Mud terrains typically have a shorter life expectancy than AT or All-Season due to their softer compound which allows for more flex and better off-road performance. That being said, these tires claim to last around 30-45k miles. Summer tires typically last between 32000-64,000 kilometres, but this may vary depending on the weather conditions and individual driving habits. Properly maintained summer tires continue to deliver a promising performance for up to 96,000 kilometres.
Are KM3 tires noisy on the highway?
When you first look at the tread pattern on the KM3 you might think this is a loud tire. Right out of the package and rolling down the road they are whisper quiet. Tread Life My KM3s with 31k miles still have a little under half tread left on them, so I could easily get another 10k-15k out of them before I’d say they’d done and need replacing.
