How to size tractor tire chains?
To see if tire chains will fit: measure tire tread width (W) and tire height (H). Measure, don’t use tire size! Measure tire chain length (L) and inside span (S) of the chains you are checking. Subtract W from S and then subtract that number from (H) which will give you the diameter of the tire chain circle. Step 1 – Know Your Tire Size That first number is the width of the tire. The next number is the aspect ratio, indicating the tire’s sidewall or profile size. With these two numbers, you can quickly and easily identify the right size snow chains or traction devices for your vehicle.
