Are Pilot Sport 4S tires good in the rain?
The Pilot Sport 4S excels in warm dry and wet conditions, so like all Max Performance Summer tires, is not intended to be serviced, stored nor driven in near- and below-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice. You can actually ruin the tire compound by doing so, the tires will get hard from the cold and you can chip pieces of the rubber off. You will notice a huge drop off in grip as the temperatures get lower. These are excellent all-around tires that provide reasonable traction in rain/snow/ice, allowing me to go through up to 6 inches of snow this winter without difficulty. This is surprising, given that my Cadillac CTS4 Performance Coupe is quite low, and has staggered tire sizes.
Which is better Goodyear SuperSport or Pilot Sport 4S?
The Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport offers a lower purchase price, but higher mileage costs due to lower mileage. The Michelin Pilot Sport 4S justifies the higher purchase price with its longer service life and more balanced performance. The total cost per kilometer is often lower for the Pilot Sport 4S.
